Recently SpySee conducted some mystery shopping at the Canberra Raiders Sports Club, Gungahlin. I personally visited the club and was pleasantly surprised to see the incredible changes it has undergone in the few years since I was a member.

While my focus for this review is Lounge 23 and Kidz Only I am sure that every customer to the club will be warmly welcomed and enjoy their visit.

The first section that particularly impressed both myself and our mystery shoppers, was Lounge 23. The atmosphere in the lounge is one of comfort and cosyness on those freezing winter days and nights. With the fireplace crackling you can sit back in the lounge chairs and relax with a drink and watch the plasma TV's around the room. I noticed a number of friends catching up over a coffee and a generous slice of cake. This is a welcoming area that is tucked away from the general hustle and bustle that you expect from a sports club.

Having a young family myself, as some of our mystery shoppers also had, the Kidz Only room was a welcome addition and a great feature of the Canberra Raiders Sports Club. It offered me the opportunity to relax and enjoy time away from home without the stress of keeping active children contained, I plan on using this MANY more times. This section is designed for kids of all ages. From the video games to the plasma with cartoons and the padded play area, I have to say that the best feature of Kidz Only is the sound proof glass wall! This will allow you to enjoy your meal or coffee in peace and quiet yet still be able to watch the kids while they play.

With a friendly and welcoming atmosphere The Canberra Raiders Sports Club is worth re-visiting if you haven't been for a while, the changes will astound you. To complete the picture the club has three outdoor areas with plasma TV's and heating, an all day menu that includes very yummy pizzas and one of the best cake and coffee deals I have had in a long time.
