Big Belly's is a Canberra based business, managed by mums providing personal training for mums to enhance lifestyles through fitness. Big Belly's Bootie Camps offer outdoor exercise in Canberra's most enticing locations to help women who are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or who have given birth by teaching safe techniques for getting fit. Children and babies are welcome and well catered for.
The atmosphere was relaxed and the Big Belly's team made me feel welcome and comfortable as I arrived a little unsure of what to expect. The exercise consisted of breaking into teams of two and completing a rotational circuit working on a combination of core cardio and strengthening exercises, which included different types of weight lifting, boxing, squats, step ups and a series of stretches to finish up. The Big Belly's team encouraged me along the way and monitored the heart rate of one of the ladies who was pregnant making sure she was not overdoing it. I found the exercise to be challenging and fun. We had a few laughs watching the children trying to copy us or climb on top of us while trying to do floor exercises, which all contributed to the relaxed and fun atmosphere. I personally recommend Big Belly's as a fun way to get out and exercise and even meet new people. The camps are held all over Canberra and go for one hour.
